Huntington offers an attractive mix of suburban neighborhoods, historical homesteads and a charming and slightly urban downtown area featuring some of the area's finest and most diverse dining. What more could anyone ask for?

As a bigger town, Huntington has more infrastructure and amenities than some of the smaller hamlets in the other Harbor areas. The Huntington Department of Parks & Recreation manages an extensive array of public beaches, park, skating rinks and golf courses. We love spending time in Huntington Village. We could probably eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at a different restaurant every day for a month. Yet as hip and urban as parts of Huntington are, it's also clear that families and businesses here date back for generations, and that people value their history.

The Huntington Lighthouse preserved by the Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society is a treasured part of Huntington history. Its preservation is continued through many community events including the Lighthouse Music Fest at the end of the summer and the Parade of Lights in November.
The Arts are truly appreciated in the Town of Huntington with the Huntington Arts Council providing art exhibits throughout the year. Right in the heart of the Village is The Paramount which brings music performers, comedians and entertainers to Huntington- it’s become a true go-to-spot which we really enjoy! Just outside the village is the, Cinema Arts Centre which is Long Island’s premiere independent and international cinema which also hosts a variety of film festivals, discussions and workshops.

Heckscher Park is a year-round destination for community events, including concerts during the Summer Arts Festival and fair rides, food & vendors during the Fall Festival. It's also home to the Heckscher Museum, which we visit as often as we can; small, accessible and personal, it's a great place to see interesting art.
